Mission Statement

"I would like to make mention of the world renowned saying “Children Are The Future”. You may have heard this many times before, but this is the absolute truth and something I believe in 100%. If we can mold these young minds by feeding them nothing but positivity and show them the possibilities of achieving whatever it is that they have their hearts set on, then they will be capable of having a great impact on the world. When I see kids coming from different walks of life, I see future leaders, future entrepreneurs, future entertainers, doctors; the list goes on! I feel that we all need to assist these children by providing them with the necessary tools and resources in order for them to succeed. To me, the true meaning of success is using what you have achieved to help others. This is what I am striving to accomplish."

Hakeem Romance (Al-Hakeem Aquil Thompson) spent most of his early childhood as
an Army Brat traveling around the world with his parents who both were in the United
States Army for well over twenty years. His father achieved the rank of Chief Warrant
Officer 4 and his mother of Master Sergeant.

His family had to relocate often and Hakeem never stayed in any one school for more
than a year. He genuinely loved the excitement of living in different places and being
exposed to many diverse cultures. This exposure had a profound impact on developing
his awareness of the arts and shaping his future.

As a child the entertainment mediums of television and radio captivated him. One of his
favorite shows was the popular "Family Matters". Hakeem loved the theme song so much
that he would sing and dance to it every time the program aired. Hakeem also spent a lot
of time listening to the radio as a young child. When hearing songs that he liked he would change the
lyrics and then perform them as his own creations.

Hakeem developed an undeniable love for singing and a great appreciation of the diverse
musical influences that he was exposed to as a young boy. For several years, during the
summer months, he visited his older cousin Khadijah. She would often take him to
her school, Arts High in Newark, NJ to watch the performances. There he was
introduced to some very talented singers and music steppers, which inspired him to
become involved in the arts. Hakeem soon realized that he had a natural talent for
singing and was destined to become a recording artist. It was with the support of his
family that during his senior year at East Side High in Newark, NJ, he
made that fateful decision to pursue a career in music.

His singing and songwriting style is the perfect infusion of 90’s and the current R&B sound, often compared tp the likes of Usher and Tank. He has recently been named the 2022 Male Emerging Artist Of The Year awarded by the International Singer’s Songwriter’s Association (ISSA). He also serves as an ISSA Administrator in the city of Richmond, Virginia.

Hakeem is a noted music industry professional. He holds a certification in the Music Industry Essentials from NYU/TISCH x Billboard - The Clive Davis Institution of Recorded Music Industry. He is also dedicated to assisting independent artists to thrive and understand the music business through his record label, Sing On Everything LLC.

He is also a part of the independent record label Wardenclyffe Entertainment team in the A&R department as a Senior Development Specialist.

Hakeem, along with his Sing On Everything brand have recently joined Resting Dove Records to collaborate on a music project and other exciting indusrty endeavors.

There are multiple shades of Hakeem Romance and he is gearing up to show this industry just how vast those shades are. The anticipated and upcoming releases of his new music projects will certainly display his unique style, drive, and talent.
